Bollards

Our bollards are suitable for cities, municipalities, public institutions and commercial buildings of any kind to visually cordon off certain areas.

They not only look elegant and high quality, but they are: stable and robust made of stainless steel. The style bollards are – like all our products – available in more than 1600 colours. So they perfectly complement our large range of outdoor furniture and accessories. The bollards from our Benkert range are not only available in round and square, but also in different thicknesses.

In addition to mounting for screwing on or setting in concrete, all road bollards are also available as a removable version. The barriers can then be quickly and easily removed from the ground socket using a fire brigade triangular key (suitable for keys according to DIN22417 M10 and DIN 3223 Form A). This makes them ideal for cities and municipalities where the bollards have to be dismantled during city festivals and events. Our removable style bollards are also popular for blocking off car parks, driveways or fire brigade access routes.

No, our bollards are not hot-dip galvanized, because stainless steel cannot be galvanized! Hot dip galvanizing is only used for iron or steel bollards.
All bollards in our product range are made of stainless steel and are powder coated by hand. This makes the bollard robust, impact resistant, scratch resistant and absolutely weatherproof.

The advantage of powder coating is not only durability, but also low maintenance and care. Stickers adhere very poorly to the lightly textured surface, scratches are less easily visible and minor touch-ups can be carried out quite simply with spray paint. Due to the large color selection of more than 8500 colors, individualization of the street bollards and thus adaptation to the overall image is possible.

All bollards in our barrier post range are optionally available with eyelets in the position of your choice. Thus, if necessary, you can also turn a normal bollard into a chain bollard or bollard with a chain, into whose eyelets barrier chains can then be hung

Control or cordon off access to certain areas and visually delimit them. The robust stainless steel bollards are used to visually indicate boundaries to road users, to show safety areas or to secure fire department access routes. On the road, they act as obstacles for vehicles to keep sidewalks or bike lanes clear, thus preventing parking in pedestrian areas, for example. Road bollards form a visual boundary to guide pedestrians, cyclists or even vehicles.

Barrier posts not only contribute to the safety and protection of private property, but also are an important element in urban and traffic planning for the efficient use of limited space, such as parking lots. So, a popular application for barrier posts is mainly parking lot barriers. They are used to prevent unauthorized people from parking.

To secure fire department access, our removable bollards are used. Because then the parking lot barriers are equipped with a lock mechanism, which can be opened with a triangular key.

The advantages of bollards are their flexibility and effectiveness. They can be installed temporarily in a removable version or permanently as stationary bollards and are available in various designs.

Barrier bollards are not only found in public spaces. Also on a company premises there are many places of application for bollards. Not for visual marking of the company premises, but also for marking parking and pedestrian areas.

In public spaces, a bollard must be at least 900 mm (90 cm) high. On the one hand, this makes it highly visible to road users and, on the other, it is not a potential source of tripping for pedestrians. All bollards in our range meet these criteria.

The installation of barrier posts or road bollards depends on local regulations. There are specific regulations and guidelines that determine where appropriate barriers may be placed.

Generally, barrier posts are installed in locations where traffic flows need to be controlled and access to certain areas needs to be controlled. This applies, for example, to locations such as streets, sidewalks, squares, parking lots and pedestrian zones.

Street bollards are often used in traffic-calmed areas or pedestrian zones to control traffic. They can also be installed at driveways or access roads to prevent or restrict through traffic.

Parking lot barriers are typically used in parking lots to protect against unauthorized parking. Here, barrier posts serve to ensure the proper use of parking areas.

When installing bollards, it is important to comply with the relevant laws and guidelines. Permits may be required, especially if public space is involved. It is advisable to contact local authorities or traffic planning agencies for information on specific regulations and requirements for the installation of bollards.

All of our offered stainless steel bollards can be either fixed in place by doweling or screwing them to the surface, or set in concrete.

In addition, each of our bollards can be ordered as a removable bollard. Then you get an additional ground sleeve, which is firmly concreted into the ground. The bollard can be removed from the sleeve at any time using a fire department triangular key. For longer removal of the bollard, such as for events, the ground sleeve without bollard can be closed with a lid.

Yes, all bollards from our large product range are available as removable versions. Using a triangular key, the bollard is then simply removed from the ground sleeve in one easy step. If necessary, the ground sleeve can also be covered with a lid when the bollard is removed for a longer period of time.
